TSHOKWANE SAFARIS
With safari being such an integral part of African travel, there is an overwhelming number of game lodges and wildlife experiences spread over the vast African wilderness. The demand for remote lodges that can only accommodate a small number of people can make itinerary planning both intricate and time consuming, requiring constantly updated knowledge of what is available and good relationships with the various lodge owners. Combined with the intricate logistics of physically getting into the wild, designing a safari itinerary can suddenly become a challenging task!
As a company, Active Africa has a responsibility to provide effective resources to our guides, a role filled largely by our sister company, Tshokwane Safaris. Where Active Africa caters for the on-the-ground logistics of a programme, Tshokwane Safaris maintains the relationships in our property portfolio and confirms the bookings for all our accommodation and flight requirements. Independently managed but an integral part of the Active Africa team, Tshokwane Safaris also serves as our central communications hub, ensuring there is always someone available to answer any calls while our guides are where they should be - out in the field with you!

Heleen and Johan Hayman are the backbone of Tshokwane Safaris. Children of Africa and veterans of overland travel in most of the wilderness environments south of the Sahara, the Haymans have an intimate relationship with Africa, experiencing first hand both the beauty and the savagery of her passion.
